Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Drug Prevention Education and Empowerment Network (“DPEEN”, “we”, “us”) collects through dpeenetwork.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
1. Who we are
DPEEN is the organisation responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@dpeenetwork.com.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry forms. When you write to us through the site we receive your full name, email address, the reason you are getting in touch, and any message you choose to add. Please do not include sensitive details such as health information unless you want to share them with us.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard server information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. We use it to keep the site secure and working, not to build a profile of you.
- Donations. Donations are made by bank transfer from your own banking app. We do not take card payments on this site, and the site never sees your bank login or card details.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run advertising or analytics tools on this site.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your message and follow up on your enquiry.
- To arrange volunteering, partnerships or help requests you ask us about.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam or misuse, for example with a hidden spam-trap field and checks on where form submissions come from.
We do not sell your information, we do not send marketing emails unless you ask for them, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
4. Why we are allowed to use it
We use the information you send because you asked us to respond, and because we have a legitimate interest in running our programmes and protecting our website. Where the law requires your consent, we rely on it, and you may withdraw it at any time.
5. Who we share it with
Only people at DPEEN who need to handle your enquiry can see it. We use the following service providers to run the site, and they process information on our behalf:
- Vercel, which hosts the website and its contact form.
- Purelymail, which delivers and stores the email we receive.
- Google Fonts and Unsplash, which supply the typeface and some photographs. Your browser contacts them directly when a page loads, so they receive your IP address and browser details.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect people from harm.
6. Transfers outside your country
Some of these providers operate servers outside Nigeria, including in the United States. By using the site and contacting us you understand that your information may be processed there, subject to the safeguards each provider applies.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to keep reasonable records of our work. You can ask us to delete your message at any time, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No online service can be completely secure, so please take care with what you send.
9. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and similar laws, you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it elsewhere. You may also withdraw consent you have given. Email info@dpeenetwork.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or to the data protection authority where you live.
10. Children
Our programmes support young people, but this website is aimed at adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
11. Other websites
If we link to another website, its owner is responsible for how it handles your information, so please read their policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. For how we use cookies and similar storage, see our cookie policy.
